Today we visited the Water Cube, currently known as the Ice Cube for the 2022 Olympics, and the Bird’s Nest! Both of these building are famous works of architecture and house some of the finest Olympic moments of history…like Michael Phelps winning 8 gold medals! I really enjoyed visiting this monumental place in Beijing!
After a couple of hours admiring the buildings, eating McDonalds ice-cream, taking selfies with Chinese tourists and lots of group photos, we headed to THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA!!!!!!
On our 2 hour journey west our charter bus broke down about 30 minutes from our hotel…this might have upset some travels, however, our group was able to rally through and entertain ourselves for over an hour while we waited for transportation.
Our hotel was well worth the wait! It is absolutely stunning; the perfect mix of modern and traditional! I will definitely be coming back here to stay in the future!
Even though we had a long morning and our bus broke down, we some how managed to make it to the Great Wall for sunset…and it was breathtaking!!! There are no words to describe the views and the magnitude!
It was just a fantastic end to a great day! I cannot wait to head back up tomorrow!
