First Day = Conquered

Today, the first full day in Shanghai, was beautiful! The weather was warm and sunny with a slight breeze; all the perfect conditions for a great day!

Itinerary:

1. 2 miles of sight seeing around the hotel

Definitely a case of “sometimes those who wander are lost”

2. Regrouping at the hotel to orient ourselves in the city...on a real map

3. Nanjing Road + a noodle lunch

4. The Bund—we walked to the Huangpu River weaving through old European buildings only to arrive at very modern skyscrapers dominating the skyline

5.Yu Garden; traditional Chinese architecture retrofitted for modern shopping/bargaining... and of course quiet tea rooms located in the second floors

6. Huangpu River Cruise (at night) — an absolute must! Shanghai‘s mega structures become engulfed in light animations creating a dramatic view

7. A delicious skewer dinner...lots of laughs, lots of questions and just lots of chaos; topped off with a free frozen milk popsicle
